HAVU have reverse swept Dignitas in the first lower bracket match of the day to stay alive in FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final, while BIG defeated Complexity in two nail-bitting maps. The two winners will face off in another elimination series in the lower bracket final, on Saturday at 14:00 .
After getting off to an 8-7 lead in the first half of Nuke, Dignitas steamrolled HAVU on their CT side, winning eight in a row after they lost the second pistol. The series moved on to Dust2 and the Finnish team replicated their adversary's formula as they only conceded one round whilst playing on the defense in the second half.
The Finns dominated the action on Overpass from the very beginning and only had to win four rounds on the CT side to eliminate Dignitas from FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final. Lasse "ZOREE" Uronen was the catalyst of their victory as the AWPer had brilliant numbers in all three maps, finishing with a 1.55 rating and +33 K-D difference.
Complexity are the only top 10 team that BIG have managed to beat in recent times and they did it again in the FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final. The Germans had to fix their defense in the second half of Mirage and count with a stunning performance from Nils "k1to" Gruhne (37-22 K/D, 1.59 rating) to carry the map to overtime and steal Complexity's map pick.
Dust2 was next and this time Complexity pursuited the comeback instead of BIG as they were down 6-11 after losing the second pistol and anti-eco. The Germans regained the lead but couldn't hold off a B rush in the 30th round, so the match went to overtime once more and BIG eliminated Complexity after Tizian "tiziaN" Feldbusch and Florian "syrsoN" Rische converted a 2v5 situation to secure the fourth round.
